"Breasts hanging like bells" (Lady Chatterley's Lover) is one of the best descriptions of breasts I have heard. Our concept of beauty goes against nature, breast are suppose to be perky requiring silicone and or underwire. Hair color, shaving, make up, etc... Natural is not seen as beauty.  The body politic and body image issue are a civilization sickness that has endured for generations creating illness and neuroses for young woman and girls. Even intelligent men seem to still create the ideal woman image for themselves and search through the catalogues of woman on online sites who are marketing themselves hoping they will fit the mould and vice versa. but there is no  chivalry. It seems the men do not need to prove their love or their worthiness to be loved other than having a good body and money...
At age 46 I am still  not exempt from the obsessiveness of the people around me with weight and looks.
Judging constantly. Not seeing the beauty of the person as they are.

 how comfortable are we in our own skins. are we ever enough as we are?
When summer comes the people who "worked" on their bodies all winter get to gloat in their bikinis and speedos.

I  admire the comfort of nakedness among "primitive" people. People in the tribe do all look similar but they do not seem to be hung up on image. There is still an ideal of  beauty; body paint. adorning themselves etc...

I found the discussion of the mirror interesting. Looking at our reflection but also looking within. External and internal forces at work. Freud and Frankenstein.

Sometimes you really wonder what he/ she sees in him/her!

 constructs of civilization (marketing) dictate what is beautiful and some may succumb to this propaganda. Striving and striving to be good enough so we will be liked.
